Always more to see…

But let us be thankful for every little glimpse of the truth
that we can recognize and trust that there is
always more to see—always.

Henri Nouwen

There are days when those glimpses are harder to catch. Days when moods are sour, tasks are plentiful and yet remain undone, every little thing irritates. These are the days when the purposeful recognition of the simple abundances is most necessary. Gifts fall into our hands, go unnoticed, slip away. Only in gratitude do we find fullness for each moment. The grace of the everyday is something to be clutched and savored.

Today I glimpsed grace in these places and with these things…

15. Directing the men of the church singing this…

16. Chocolate milkshake delivered by my husband as I sit at the computer…

17. Gentle conversation between a sweet lady at church and my 1 year old…

18. The green of growing grass…

19. Silly dances by giggly children…

20. Discussing with my 5-year-old how God gives us new chances each morning, and believing it myself…

21. Communion stewards meeting my eye and calling me by name as they give me the bread, the cup and a blessing besides…

22. Fun with videos- the fourth one to find this bookshelf…

23. The promise hope of a good night’s sleep…
